Sarah Slack is THOR’s PolarTREK teacher. PolarTREK is a US National Science Foundation program that provides hands-on field research experiences for teachers in the Arctic or Antarctica, working side by side with scientists. She teaches STEM at the Montauk School in Brooklyn, NY and has a Masters degree in Plant Biology from the University of Minnesota. She is a member of the city's Middle School Science Leadership Team and loves coaching her school's Science Olympiad team. Sarah maintained a journal and website during her cruise on board the US Research Vessel Nathaniel B. Palmer in January through March 2020.
